T.V: 2010 in comedy

I shall say that this is not a professional blog and its just purely as a hobby for me.
I love watching television everyday, well almost everyday, and 2010 wasn't the big time for television might we say, but it was pretty good.
Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase
Sitcoms are getting better with the introduction to what can be one of the best comedies I've seen in years, yes I'm talking about Community. A very well written series with a whole bunch of hilarity and pop-culture references which when made into a whole episode it transforms into the best episodes of this show!
Tracy Morgan, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer
And as if I didn't love anymore comedy, its still a good year to be Tina Fey with her critically acclaimed hit show 30 Rock. Although nowadays it lacks of its certain comedy it had starting, it still makes me laugh and making me feel like if I knew certain political news (I know I'm not learning anything). 30 Rock can still be a very good show indeed. (Just look at Aaron Sorkin's ironic guest spot on last Thursday's episode).
But those two aside, there have been some good t.v comedies on 2010. The Emmy winner Modern Family is a very great show about a dysfunctional family. And there's also public favorite The Big Bang Theory and I'm biased because I used to love that show with such a passion but I don't know maybe for me it has lost what made it unique, its nerdy way to do comedy. I just hope Community doesn't make that same mistake!
Well, I think that might be my opinion on 2010 sitcoms. What do you think? Will there be more sitcoms that may unseat the already mentioned? Will Community lose its unique comedy or will it continue to be a cult modern classic? Have your opinions on the comments please.

Music: The Alternative Bands

I don't know many bands of alternative rock but certainly they are some of my favorites. There are many new (by new I mean of this century) that had made me become interested in this type of music.
Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis
Now, I guess the first thing I think of when I hear the word alternative band might be obviously Oasis. One of the greatest in my opinion, Oasis is just the synonym of rock band lifestyle but also considered the biggest Brit pop band ever. And well I guess everybody knows very well Wonderwall and always sing it out loud, maybe that's just me.

Another Alternative band I adore, although considered more of a Brit pop band that an alt-rock band is Coldplay. Yes, the band's lyrics might be a little depressive but they mix it with a certain rhythm that fixes all. I love them mostly for those weird lyrics they have and probably my favorite song is Fix You and The Scientist.

And if we're talking about alternative bands we must talk about one of the 1st popular bands of that type and one that just one a Grammy for Album of the year. Yes of course I'm talking about R.E.M. and Arcade Fire. Not a big fan of R.E.M but I loved several of their songs and mostly I loved Losing my Religion. And what to say about Arcade Fire, they are new to me (although they've been long enough doing music for me to know them already) but that's just what alternative means: having potential to reach a wider audience but not really getting mainstream yet. So I was saying, Arcade Fire are a great band and they might be the ones who carry with this genre and be the successors of such bands as the already mentioned Oasis, Nirvana(although for me it is more grunge), The Cure, R.E.M, The Smiths, etc.
And well, this is my opinion on alternative bands and i hope I didn't miss something important. I'd appreciate if you can tell me in the comments.

Hi. This is actually the second blog about movies, music and t.v I've done but the first one was in Spanish so I wanted to write in English. My name is Daniela, and I have a certain fascination for music (most of the 80s music), movies(a very great passion for them) and television(mainly sitcoms), so I'm going to talk about any opinion I have on any of these topics and If you want you can also ask something in the comments and I will be just as happy to answer your questions. Remember, I'm not a reviewer so many of my opinions on movies are not in a critic way, I'm not a critic although I love to watch movies. Like this blog? Don't like it? Please leave comments on your opinions and thank you!
